One more bad news of layoff!! God knows where this all will end. This time it's at Texas based company Freescale Semiconductor. Freescale is a leading manufacturer of micro controllers, microprocessors and semiconductors. The layoff are happening at it's Bangalore center due to restructuring of the Cellular Product Group (CPG). For more details refer to following news item of economic times

One more related article which says the complete Bangalore unit is getting closed
Layoffs at Freescale Semiconductor in April 2009

For the Freescale employees there is a job opening with a startup
Required experience 5-8 yrs of experience, have experience in multiple embedded OS
(embedded linux, Nucleus, Andoird), SMS and other apps, the GSM stack, C/C++
skills, security on device (secure sockets, encryption, compression etc).

I came across this opening in Barcamp mailing list and thought of sharing with others
